Advice for veterinary practices regarding services provided by Vet Practice Support (VPS)

We provide services to veterinary practices in the same way that a locum would: not to animal owners.

Although we carry our own professional indemnity insurance, responsibility for obtaining detailed, informed consent for procedures from pet owners rests with the practice for whom VPS provides services.  We always act under the direction of the practice.

We strongly advise that you seek consent for clipping of hair prior to ultrasonography and for any other interventions which are likely to be necessary in the course of treatment (including blood sampling, urine sampling, biopsy and centesis procedures).  A tailored consent form is available in the ‘download’ section of our website.
